Abstract

Peter J Tyldesley considers the proposals & prospects for consumer insurance law reform. - The Law Commissions’ proposals for reform will be published in December 2009. - If implemented, the proposals will abolish the duty of disclosure, modify the law of misrepresentation and render basis of the contract clauses ineffective. - The major obstacle to reform is the opposition of the infl uential Association of British Insurers.
