Improving Public Awareness of Stalking and Domestic Abuse in Young People. Maria Mellins and Clive Ruggles

The pages of this book provide accounts from varied perspectives about how young people are impacted by stalking and domestic abuse, and that sadly, there is still a great deal of work to do. This chapter provides a summary of findings from each chapter and reframes the discussion to consider major themes that have emerged, which relate to the criminal justice system; victim support services; employment; the education system, and the media. Whilst there are certainly examples of good practice within these contexts, this book has also revealed the need to make essential changes and address gaps across key institutions in the UK and Ireland, which will significantly change the landscape and improve outcomes for young people. Finally, this chapter turns to our partner, The Alice Ruggles Trust, who outline their recommendations for future work in this area.
