LOL (Laugh Out Loud): the place of humour in RE

This chapter draws on research undertaken with those learning to be non-specialist primary teachers, many of whom approach Religious Education (RE) with marked apprehension. In consequence, the argument is that humour used as part of the RE teacher's ontological disposition and pedagogical repertoire can help create an atmosphere more conducive to engagement and encounter in a subject where ironically, ultimate questions of life often become a serious focus.
